5 Alternative Workplaces to Try Out When You’re Tired of Working from Home

Working from home has its benefits, but it can also be isolating and lack the structure and separation that an office environment provides. To mix things up and find a change of scenery, I like to work from different locations outside of my home. Here are five places I use as an office instead of just working from home:

  1. Starbucks: With its comfortable seating and reliable Wi-Fi, Starbucks is a popular choice for people who work remotely. Plus, the coffee and pastries are an added bonus. I usually go to Starbucks in the morning to get a caffeine fix and start my workday.
  2. The beach: If you live near the beach, it can be a great place to work from. The sound of the waves and the fresh air can be very calming and help boost your productivity. Just make sure to bring a beach chair, umbrella, and sunscreen to stay comfortable.
  3. My car: While it might not be the most comfortable option, my car can be a convenient place to work if I need to get out of the house but don’t want to go too far. It’s also great for conference calls because it’s relatively quiet and private. (Check out my Car Office Must-Haves list so you can also work in style.)
  4. Public libraries: If you’re looking for a free and quiet place to work, a public library can be a great option. Many libraries have comfortable seating, good lighting, and fast Wi-Fi. Plus, you’ll have access to a variety of resources like books, computers, and printing services. Just make sure to be respectful of other library patrons and follow any rules or guidelines set by the library.
  5. Restaurants: Depending on the restaurant, working from a restaurant can be a nice change of pace. Some restaurants have a cozy atmosphere and quiet corners that are perfect for working. Plus, you’ll have access to food and drinks if you get hungry or thirsty. Just make sure to order something to show your appreciation for being able to work there.

These are just a few places I like to use as an office instead of only working from home. Depending on the weather and my location, I have worked from beautiful hotel lobbies, public parks, and town squares. Whether you’re looking for a change of scenery, a chance to socialize, or just a different environment to work in, there are plenty of options out there. So don’t be afraid to mix things up and try out some new places to work from.
